Functioning at capacity in an extremely outdated OR suite, the hospital requested the Surgery Management Improvement Group, Inc. to facilitate a multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses to develop a vision and operational facility plan for the operating room program of the future that would ensure clinicians have the space, resources, and operational efficiencies to meet the anticipated needs of surgery patients and successfully compete in the greater Boston healthcare market.
The engagement produced a common vision and design for operational programs to support efficient patient flow through the anticipated new surgical services facility. Additional work completed included: development of customized patient documentation and revision of the scope and organizational structure of the OR Committee.
